Transsyberia 2007 Results
Millen and Kelsey win the Transsyberia Rally 2007 in a Porsche Cayenne Transsyberia. The team North America 2 has won the Transsyberia Rallye 2007. Rally legend Rod Millen and his co-pilot Richard Kelsey maintained their lead in their Porsche Cayenne Transsyberia ahead of the Italian crew Antonio Tognana and Carlo Cassino, as well as team Quatar with Adel Abdulla and Norbert Lutteri. All that counted on this 14 mile long stretch at the edge of the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar was navigation performance. The time wasn't even taken. Millen and Kelsey found all control points, so that their lead in the overall classification couldn't be taken away from them. "We are very happy that we won. The Transsyberia was the biggest challenge of my motorsport career." said Millen upon arrival at the finish-line. The last of the 14 stages led the drivers over 211 miles from Mongol Els to Ulaanbaatar. The victory ceremony will take place this evening in the teams' quarters.

Porsche to Unveil Limited Edition Cayman S
Luxury-enhanced Black Coupe Celebrates 35 Years of Porsche Design Studio
ATLANTA, August 14, 2007--- Thirty-five years ago Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, architect of the classic design of the Porsche 911, launched the Porsche Design Studio. Among his first signature creations was the Chronograph 1, a special timepiece in a stylish black finish, a most striking design element of its day. Porsche commemorates this innovative design with the unveiling of its classic black Cayman S Porsche Design Edition 1 at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September.
The quintessential craftsmanship of the Chronograph 1 is retold in every design element of the mid-engine 295-hp Cayman S Porsche Design Edition 1. The exterior is painted solid black with matte black design stripes. The interior is also inspired by the classy layout of the Chronograph 1 with black leather and Alcantara upholstery, sleek instrument dials and several black painted features. The Porsche crest embossed on the headrests and the elegant Limited Edition insignia on the glove compartment lid add impeccable refinement. But perhaps the vehicle’s most unusual standard accessory and a compelling tribute to Porsche Design’s multitude of design achievements is the elegant briefcase that comes with every vehicle, and contains a quartz chronograph, pocket knife, pair of sunglasses, writing pen and key ring, all created by Porsche Design.
Only 777 Cayman S Porsche Design Edition 1 models will be available to consumers worldwide. 250 of them are earmarked for the North American market and will come to Porsche dealerships in the U.S. and Canada in the first half of 2008, at a base price of $69,900 in the U.S., with the Canadian pricing to be announced later.
The Porsche Design Studio was launched by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche in 1972 to create and market a range of sophisticated accessories under the Porsche Design brand. It is recognized internationally as a leader in industrial design, luxury items and consumer goods.

Porsche Supports the Nurburgring
Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, supports the Nürburgring to retain the Nordschleife as a sports venue and test track. During the European Formula 1 Grand Prix, Wolfgang Dürheimer, Executive Vice-President Research and Development at Porsche AG, presented a cheque for 250,000 Euro. Moreover, Porsche makes the technology of the Weissach-developed crash cushion for race and test circuits available to the Nürburgring free-of-charge. These bolted-together tyre-stacks with a special foam core substantially improve the safety, above all in the areas with limited run-off zones.
“For Porsche it goes without saying that we wanted to make our contribution to the increase in safety on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. The circuit is unique in the world – on the one hand as a circuit for top-class motorsport as well as for many recreational racers and on the other hand as the ultimate test track for the development of our production vehicles,” says Dürheimer explaining the support of Porsche AG.
Symbolically, Dürheimer also presented the Nürburgring with a crash cushion consisting of six foam-filled tyre-stacks, as is in operation at Porsche's test track in the Weissach Research and Development Centre. The FIA-approved elements absorb considerably more energy than crash barriers and need not be replaced after an impact, as they revert back into their original form.

Understanding PAG order codes
Since so many of you are using this web site to shop, order and track the
progress of your new Porsche, you
will need to understand the order codes. I hope this will help you understand
just where your car is during
the production process and when you can expect its delivery.
Order accepted (PCNA code: ACPORD) Your order has been accepted by
PCNA.
Order amended Some of you may see this in the status window. This code
means that your order replaced an
existing, stock order. This is done when possible, to speed the production of
your Porsche. In other cases this
reflects a change in the original order.
Manufacture date (PCNA code: MFGCNF) Your order has been assigned a
production number by PCNA.
Planned production (PCNA code: PLPROD) Your order has been assigned for
production by PAG. No
additional changes to your order are possible at this stage.
Final production phase (PCNA code: PRDLST) This is the last checkpoint
before your Porsche is
considered completed.
Completed production (PCNA code: IMPINV) Your Porsche has completed
production, has been invoiced
and is ready for shipment to San Diego.
Shipped from PAG (PCNA code: ONVESL) Your Porsche has been shipped
from Germany, for arrival at
San Diego, CA in about 21 days.
Arrived PDI/San Diego (PCNA code: IMPPRT) Your Porsche has arrived at the
Porsche PDI center (Pre
Delivery Inspection) in San Diego, CA.
Shipped from PDI/San Diego (PCNA code: INVSHP) Your Porsche has been
assigned to a transporter for
delivery to Niello Porsche in about 2 days.
Arrived Niello Porsche (PCNA code: DLRARR) Your long wait is almost over.
It will take us up to 48
hours to inspect, detail and arrange for you to pick up your new Porsche.
Ready for Delivery Your Porsche is ready for you to take delivery. It has been
inspected by us and has been
detailed to your specifications, including the addition of any special
instructions or dealer added options you may have requested.
Once your car has been shipped from Germany (PAG), it will take about 35-48
days for your Porsche to arrive here at
Niello. The general rule is, 21 days from PAG to San Diego, 5-10 days at PDI/
San Diego and about 2 days
to truck the car from San Diego to Sacramento.
I hope this helps to give a better understanding of the time-line on your
order. We print an inventory manager (a report from PCNA on the status of
all vehicles ordered by
Niello) several times a week. We update the web site many times a day
(weekdays, busness hours) so the information is as "real time" as possible.
Remember that it is common for your order to go from "Order accepted" to
"Planned production" status immediately after your order has been submitted
(Planned Production status cars are cannot be changed or amended in any
way). For this reason it is critical that you order your new Porsche carefully.
In some cases we have been able to amend an order after it has been
submitted to PCNA however making changes after an order is placed is
unlikly. As always email me or call if you have any questions.
